V is for Viola banksii, a native violet found all along the NSW coast. This teeny tiny beauty is so prolific, it even grows like a weed in my back yard and on my front porch, standing proudly at 5 cm tall.
This 20 x 20 mini acrylic painting is part of an A-Z series showing the diversity and beauty of Australian flora. I grew up in Aotearoa New Zealand, and the project was an exercise in learning and appreciating Aboriginal plant lore, and learning more about Australian plant species in my adopted home.
