Commission guide
Commissioning a work of art
A commissioned work is a conversation and collaboration between artist and collector, distilling shared vision and personal reference into resolved artwork.
To begin, please reach out via the enquiry form below. It can be helpful to share your preferred size, the type(s) of work you’re drawn to, and one or more examples from my portfolio that resonate with you. This allows me to understand your initial direction and ensure the commission is a thoughtful fit. If you don’t know these details yet, we will work it out together.
Browse the commission guide below for an outline of the process, and recent projects.
-
The brief unfolds our conversation as collector and artist. We can correspond by email or arrange a call at your convenience.
I invite you to select one to three of my artworks, and, if you wish, one to three works by other artists that you’re drawn to. These references help me understand your aesthetic sensibility beyond the immediate commission.
From there, we’ll refine the brief together, shaping the palette, scale, and overall direction of the work to create an initial concept.
-
Once the brief is confirmed, an initial invoice will be issued so work may commence. A 50% deposit is required, with the balance payable upon completion.
Indicative pricing for 2026 is as follows:
30 × 40 cm — AUD $1,650
50 × 50 cm — AUD $1,950
1 × 1 m — AUD $3,950
2 × 1 m — AUD $6,950For alternate dimensions or bespoke commissions, a tailored quote will be provided.
-
Each artwork is created with care and intention. Please allow approximately two to three months for completion.
If the work is required by a specific date such as a birthday, anniversary, or brand launch this will be discussed during the briefing stage.
As the artwork nears completion, you’ll receive images for review and approval. Once signed off, the final invoice will be issued and the work will be framed and prepared for delivery.
-
Unless otherwise agreed, canvas works are stretched and finished in a floating box frame. This is included in the commission investment.
For works on paper, framing options will be discussed as part of the brief and incorporated into the overall cost and timeline.
If you prefer your artwork to arrive rolled, unstretched, or unframed, this can be arranged. -
All artworks are professionally packaged and shipped via courier to your home or business.
Delivery within the Sydney metropolitan area is complimentary. Domestic and international shipping is available, including to the United States. Shipping costs outside Sydney are the responsibility of the collector.
