Commission guide
Commissioning a work of art
A commissioned work is a conversation between artist and collector, turning shared vision and personal reference into resolved artwork.
To begin, please reach out via the enquiry form below. It can be helpful to share a preferred size, the type(s) of work you’re drawn to, and one or more examples of my work that resonate with you. If you don’t know these details yet, that’s ok, we will work it out together.
Browse the commission guide below for an outline of the process.
-
The brief unfolds our conversation as collector and artist. We can do this by email or arrange a call at your convenience.
It can be helpful to provide references and examples of works that resonate with you. These references help me understand what you are looking for. Sometimes that’s example images, and sometimes that’s a conversation about styles and artists.
From there, I’ll refine the brief together, shaping the palette, scale, and overall direction of the work, timeline and terms.
-
Once the brief is confirmed, an initial invoice will be issued so work may commence. A 50% deposit is required, with the balance payable upon completion.
Indicative pricing for 2026 is as follows:
30 × 40 cm — from AUD $1,650
50 × 50 cm — from AUD $1,950
1 × 1 m — from AUD $3,950
2 × 1 m — from AUD $6,950For alternate dimensions, a tailored quote will be provided.
-
Each artwork is created with care and intention. Please allow approximately two to three months for completion.
If the work is required by a specific date such as a birthday, anniversary, or brand launch this will be discussed during the brief.
As the artwork nears completion, you’ll receive images for review and approval, or we can arrange a studio visit to view the work in person.
Once signed off, the final invoice will be issued and the work will be framed and prepared for delivery.
-
Unless otherwise agreed, works on canvas are stretched and finished in a floating box frame. Framing is included in the commission brief and cost.
For works on paper, framing options will be discussed as part of the brief and incorporated into the overall cost and timeline if required.
If you prefer your artwork to arrive rolled/unstretched, or unframed, this can be arranged and will be noted in the brief.
-
All artworks are packaged and shipped via tracked courier to your home or business.
Delivery within the Sydney metropolitan area is complimentary.
Domestic and international shipping is available, including to the United States. Shipping costs outside Sydney will be paid by the collector and will be noted in the brief.
